Herbal Medicine: Green science
Herbal medicine is one of the oldest forms of medicine which is prepared exclusively from medicinal herbs and plants. According to the World Health Organization (WHO) estimation, around 80% of the population is some Asian and African countries use herbal medicine for primary health care as it is more economical. The herbal treatment method is also been used as remedies for chronic diseases such as cancer, diabetes, asthma, and end-stage renal diseases. Herbal remedies are of increasing demand in European countries. According to the World Health Organization, approximately 25% of modern drugs used in the United States have been derived from plants. It is estimated that 11% of the total 252 drugs found in essential medicine list of WHO are exclusive of plant origin.
